Tour itinerary

On this tour, we’ll take you on a sweep across southern Spain, starting at the Atlantic beaches south of Portugal and moving you east to Granada at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Here our favourite places that we’ve discovered in Andalucía. We would like to share them with you:

Day 1:

Arrive at Malaga Airport and drive by van to Conil de la Frontera on Spain’s Atlantic coast (below Portugal). Walk the miles of wide, sandy beach and explore your first Pueblo Blanco, set directly on the ocean. Enjoy a dinner of creative Tapas and settle into the Spanish lifestyle.

Overnight: Conil de la Frontera.

Day 2:

Spend the day exploring the coast and adjoining hills and farmland, with lunch in the white hilltown of Medina Sedonia. Visit the Roman ruins and amphitheater at the beach-side village of Bolonia, or simply enjoy the beach and walk among the cliffs and sand dunes.

Overnight: Conil de la Frontera.

Day 3:

Move to the strikingly positioned village of Zahara del la Sierra, a favorite pueblo blanco, where you will stay in a modern hotel set just at the foot of this scenic town near the Grazalema Nature Reseve. Along the way to Zahara you’ll visit Arcos de la Frontera, an old city balanced on top of a cliff.

Day 4:

Visit Seville, the capital of Andalucía, where you can see the third largest cathedral in the world, tour the Alcazar palace that dates from the time of the Moors, and take a walking tour of the old Jewish quarter. Indulge in Tapas for a late lunch before exploring the city’s extensive gardens or its pedestrian walking streets.

Day 5:

While moving on to Granada, visit Ronda, a pueblo blanco set on a cliff with a high, stone bridge connecting the old and new parts of the small city. Enjoy stunning scenery as we work eastward through endless hills covered in olive trees until you come to Granada, the ancient capital of the Moors who ruled Spain between the 900s and the 1400s.

Overnight: Granada

Day 6:

Visit the places, fortifications and gardens of the Alhambra, the best known and most beautiful remnants of the time the Arabs controlled Spain. There will also be time to visit the historic center of the city, with its cathedral, and the former Arab district with its small, windy streets special views of the Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Day 7:

After your last morning exploring Granada, depart for the city of Malaga, the city where Picasso was born. Here you can walk along the waterfront, visit the cathedral, climb up to ancient Moorish fortifications on the hill, or simply enjoy the city’s pedestrian-only shopping district. You can also fit in a visit to the Picasso Museum, with its extensive collection of paintings.

Overnight: Malaga

Day 8:

Breakfast in Malaga. Then you can depart from Malaga airport or take a high speed train north to Madrid or Barcelona. Or take a lost-cost flight to almost anywhere in Europe.
