Walk along the magnificent Rhine River in Germany

We are most pleased to announce a new walking trip along the banks of the Rhine River in Germany. The trip will run in early September 2025.

It's going to be a great walk, led by Edwin de Bruijn who has been leading our Austrian walking tours. The thing to keep in mind is that this is not a hiking tour (like the one’s Edwin has led in Austria for us). This is a walking tour, somewhat similar to the Camino walks we run in Spain and Portugal.

The path we’ll follow is along a particularly scenic stretch of the Rhine River which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. We'll follow the ridge on the east side of the river each day, with wonderful views across the river. We will visit castles and other historic sites along the way. After our walk, we'll head back down to a charming village along the banks of the river where we'll have a great dinner and stay in a family-fun hotel.

Up to now, most of our trips have been in southern Europe. For this trip, we'll be in a totally new country. I love the food (especially the breakfast buffets) and of course there is good beer and great local (Riesling) white wine.
