Walking the Camino in Spain - 2021

Following a pause for the pandemic we returned to the Camino de Santiago in October 2021, starting out in Pamplona and finishing up in Santo Domingo de la Calzada, a distance of about 120 km (75 miles).

This section is near the start of the 500-mile Camino path and is our favorite section. We enjoy Pamplona (especially without any bulls in the streets), the countryside is beautiful in both spring and fall, and we pass through many historic towns and villages along the way.

Pamplona is a larger place of about 200,000, as is Logroño, about halfway along our route. Pamplona is in Navara, a largely Basque provence, while Logroño is the capital of La Rioja region known for its wine and fine foods. We celebrate Logroño with a memorable tapas tour.
