Yoga Retreat on the Beach in Costa Rica
With Matece Skow
October 27 to November 3, 2025
Yoga and adventure in Costa Rica
Join us for our new yoga retreat on the beach in Costa Rica. We have a highly experienced yoga instructor for you and your comfort is assured at our lovely 4-star private resort.
We have booked the entire 15-room O’Pacifico resort for this retreat, a hotel that offers direct beach access, dedicated yoga facilities, excellent cuisine, two pools, and, of course, water sports that include standup paddleboards, kayaks, snorkeling, plus mountain biking.
Leading our retreat is Matece Skow, a veteran leader of international yoga retreats in Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean. She provides a safe and nurturing environment where you can work on both the physical aspects of yoga and personal growth.
Since we’ll be in Costa Rica, you know that our surroundings will be beautiful. And as the resort is on a bay, the water will be completely accessible to us, with many options to enjoy the beach and our surroundings on all sides.

Retreat activities
Morning breathwork and meditation
Our day begins with a morning breathwork pranayama practice that can help you feel energized, centered, and more connected to the present moment. The breathwork prepares the mind for a serene morning guided meditation to cultivate mindfulness, clarity, and intention. This practice focuses on awakening your mind and body, setting a positive tone for the day ahead.
Invigorating gentle morning yoga
After breathwork, we move into a gentle yet invigorating yoga routine that is designed to ease you into movement with mindful stretches and energizing poses, all while maintaining a sense of calm and intention.
Afternoon relaxing yoga
In the late afternoons, we will explore a practice designed to help you unwind, relax, and find your bliss. By moving slowly and holding each pose for several minutes with support, you'll experience a deep stretch and a profound sense of relaxation. This practice helps to enhance flexibility, improve circulation, and promote a meditative state of mind, making it an ideal way to reset and rejuvenate.
Other activities and excursions
As you would expect on a yoga retreat, much time will be spent with yoga and related practices. But you will still have time to enjoy great meals and spend time on the beach. Indeed, we are scheduling ample free time for you so you can simply relax or head out to explore this corner of Costa Rica on your own.
We have scheduled kayaking/paddleboarding one afternoon as a group, together with an instructor/guide. If you would like to do more (at an additional charge), you can take paddleboard or kayaking lessons, or enjoy water-based tours to observe the bioluminescent bay at night or head out to snorkel. You can even take paddleboard yoga lessons from a local instructor. More information about these activities.
We will also take you on an excursion to the far side of the peninsula from where we’ll be based. There we can watch the surfers and perhaps brave the waves ourselves.
An outing will also be organized for you to hike on the 60-acre grounds of the the hotel, or farther afield. We will also have the opportunity to partake in some of the many other activities available in Costa Rica, including mountain biking.
We also plan to visit the Macaw Recovery Network to see the work of local conservation groups to restore the population of these colorful parrots.
Note: These activities may change if something even better presents itself.
